We are SO excited! 10 days from now – Thursday, June 13 – our fourth annual Moriah Golf Classic kicks off with a first ever, Champions Luncheon. Join us as we welcome Darrell Waltrip and his wife Stevie to The Meadows at GVSU. Darrell will be addressing the Champions Luncheon under the Gazebo at The Meadows at 11:30 am before we head out to the course for our 1:00 pm shotgun start. What a wonderful opportunity this is for our community!
Darrell is a Nascar legend and a great Fox motor sports analyst. He is well loved by the younger generation as Darrell Cartrip from the movie “Cars.” Darrell is an author, most recently of Sundays Will Never Be the Same where he provides an intimate account of one of the most dramatic and tragic days in the history of NASCAR: the 2001 Daytona 500— the day that racing legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. died.
Darrell and Stevie became involved with the Moriah Golf Classic through our family friendship from the years our family lived in Tennessee. They have hosted Moriah Ministries mission trip volunteers over the past several years and Darrell has appeared in the past at golf tournaments we have hosted through our work with Youth for Christ in the south. They are hoping you will join them next Thursday, June 13, in supporting our work with Moriah Ministries at GVSU.
We still have room for you at the Champions Luncheon (available to non-golfers for just $15) where Darrell will be speaking as well as room for golfers and foursomes for the entire event. Your golfer event fee ($150/person) includes the Champions Luncheon, your golf fees and cart, practice range, beverages on the course, and our Picnic and Prizes closing event.
