Jamie is the youth pastor and sports director at Spring Valley Church in Allendale, an EMT, actively involved with the Sparta Rodeo and helps out with his family farm. Jamie is an important part of the leadership team for Supersonic.

965249_10101200293698825_1773331857_oAnthony Adams (A.A.) spent this past season serving the Lakers’ football team as an assistant to Chap Andy.  He is on the leadership team for Supersonic and has served with us there for the past five seasons.  Anthony has also traveled with our SERVE teams.  As a GVSU grad and football alum (two-time All American) Anthony is uniquely prepared and equipped to serve students in a powerful way.  Anthony recently completed his Master’s degree in counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.  We look forward to all God has in store as Anthony serves students with us.

Valerie McDaniel (a.k.a. Mom Val) serves alongside Chap Andy assisting with all things administrative.  She is our website creator, social media manager, she assists Chap with ministry development, Val is our special event coordinator and she cares for communications and organizational needs. As Chap’s wife, she has been part of his ministry story for the past 33 years.  She is “Mom Val” to many GVSU students as well as “Mom” to three amazing McDaniel kiddos and 2 of the best sons-in-law around and she loves being “Grammy” to 2 beautiful tiny people –  with another on the way!

11873353_10153595411412112_4299547669373949666_nChap Andy McDaniel – Executive Director  Under Andy’s leadership, Moriah Ministries is a vibrant growing ministry, influencing countless students at Grand Valley State University.  Andy developed and directs our monthly Supersonic outreach, touching the lives of hundreds of students at GVSU.  Supersonic is changing the lives of students who never would have considered faith as a priority during their college careers.  Andy just completed his 8th season as Life Coach with Laker’s football and his 7th season serving the Laker’s basketball teams. Andy directs, trains and oversees all staff and volunteers involved in Moriah Ministries. He leads our Life Coaching program designed specifically to serve Grand Valley State University. Andy developed the annual Moriah Golf Classic, helping to provide a firm financial base for the ministry.

Each year Andy leads GVSU students on service project trips to serve both around the world and right here in the US. Teams have served in the Dominican Republic, offered tornado relief in Tuscaloosa, AL, traveled to China serving orphans with Bring Me Hope, served Nashville, TN providing flood relief and Homestead, Florida serving an urban kids ministry called KIX. He served in Appalachia in Asheville, North Carolina and this summer we returned to SERVE Tuscaloosa, Alabama still recovering from massive tornadoes that devastated this inner city community.  Andy leads student service teams providing needed services to camps right here in Michigan as well including Camp Roger, Grace Youth Camp, Young Life’s Timber Wolf Lake and Camp Mel Trotter.

Chap Andy, Mom Val, Jamie and Anthony are…

Opening doors and serving students and staff at Grand Valley State University.

Thanks for supporting them with your prayers and for providing them with a solid financial foundation.

*All Staff and Volunteer positions require training. All staff and volunteers have an application process to complete.

*Potential Board of Trustees members have a Board of Trustees interview process to complete and must be approved by a vote by the Board of Trustees.

* Being a Life Coach requires a year of on-the-job training and the ability to provide 24/7 accessibility to the team being served.  It may involve traveling with a team to away games or tournaments and requires the Life Coach to have the availability to be at practices and team events, serving at the coach’s request.
